Rubens was a residential and commercial cleaner for many years, transitioning to car detailing with Rick Damelian in Sydney in 2000.

Rubens continued his passion for cleaning with cars and also in the construction and mining industries. 

 

Over the years, he has seen cleaning practices that are less than desirable and degrading to the environment, with the use of too much water and chemicals. He vowed to change these practices and work towards a cleaner and healthier planet for his children and for future generations. As a result, Adelaide Blasting was born.

Adelaide Blasting is focused on working towards a circular economy to assist in tackling global challenges like climate change, waste and pollution. The Director is conscious about how resources are managed, how products are used, and what is done with the materials (if any) afterwards.

Adelaide Blasting is a movement, because it is a change in the way a business operates. This movement focuses on people over profit and what can be given back to the community. The aim of Adelaide Blasting is to support initiatives greater than itself through employment programs and environmental sustainability.

On a personal note, Rubens is a car enthusiast (modified Japanese cars) and absolutely adores his two young children.  His young daughter has even taken a liking to cleaning!
